 KATHLEEN BENJAMIN – kathleeen@cslcamarillo.org

In 1980, Kathleen read Autobiography of a Yogi and began to meditate and examine her beliefs. While in deep meditation, she saw a vision of Paramahansa Yogananda in a garden beckoning her to go deeper.

Following her vision, and for 30 years thereafter, she attended, studied, and volunteered at Self Realization Fellowship. While there, she was in leadership positions for the following groups; Temple Beautiful,Temple Day of Service and Special Events.

She took her first class at Founder’s Church of ReligiousScience in 1982. She began to listen to Dr. William Hornaday on the radio and was moved by how he suggested that our consciousness is like a garden that needs to be tended through meditation and prayer.

Kathleen has studied Science of Mind now for over 35 years. From 1983-1989, she worked with Terry Cole Whittaker Ministries helping facilitate abundance seminars, book releases and special events. She has also studied with a wide range of eminent spiritual teachers, including Mary Morrisey, Deepak Chopra, Jean Houston and Michael Bernard Beckwith.

BILLY SHANK – billy@cslcamarillo.org

For Billy, being a Licensed Religious Science Practitioner was never the goal.

“I’ve always wanted to help ‘regular’ people realize their Divine Magnificence. Being religious or pious or following some obscure rules doesn’t matter. It’s all about being happy, loving, joyous and free to create what’s in your soul. There is so much more to us than this physical body.

Becoming a Practitioner was just the next logical step.”Many years ago I’d had what some might call an ‘epiphany’. It led me to study all the major religions, converse with numerous what I call ‘every day mystics’ and, most importantly, intimately know my own personal God. I’d come to most of the conclusions of Science of Mind long before ever stepping into a Religious Science Church. I’d always thought I was the only one. Lo and behold, there was a whole room full of them! It was the first place I’d been in a longtime that I felt could take me higher.”

“I immersed myself in classes. Ernest Holmes was a genius. I loved how he connected the dots between the science and the heart.”

Billy is an accomplished speaker,  workshop presenter and the award winning author of “The Forgiveness Story”; voted the Independent Book Awards Best Spiritual Self-help book of 2017.

SUSAN ESPINOSA – susan@cslcamarillo.org

Becoming a Practitioner was not in Susan’s plans until she found herself on the doorstep of the Camarillo Center for Spiritual Living looking for guidance after an extreme health scare in 2018.

Susan worked as an intuitive life coach in an office across the parking lot from CCSL and she used to walk by and think that some day she would check it out. That day had come. Upon entering, she was immediately met with unconditional love and support. She knew she had found her home which naturally led her to the path of becoming a licensed Prayer Practitioner in 2021 as well as serving as the current Chair of the Board.

Susan’s prior 25 years experience as an intuitive life coach and author matched perfectly with the teachings of Science of Mind. CCSL’s motto “To be in Service, Prayer and Play” was a dream come true. Combining her years as a life coach, along with her love of the teachings and for the Camarillo Center for Spiritual Living, she has dedicated herself to helping others find a safe home within themselves and within CCSL.

Susan is the author of “Something Wonderful  – Beyond 2012 The Possibilities to Come”. Released Dec 25, 2012, it takes a look forward at the changes humanity would see from 2012-2026 and how to work with the energy from the Universe to help in navigating the shift . Coincidentally, Something Wonderful is also the congregational song for CCSL. A teaching Susan likes to remind herself of is, even if times seem dark, the Universe is always ahead of us paving the way for something wonderful!
