Welcome to the Center for Spiritual Living Camarillo (CCSL). My name is Susan and I’m a licensed Practitioner in Science of Mind and New Thought.
How are you? I know that can be a challenging question to answer these days! I truly want to know because if the last several years for you have been anything like mine, then you might not know how you’re doing or that help is available.
There’s a lot of choices when it comes to finding a good teacher you feel you can trust.
I have a few points I think might help in your journey. I know they helped me in determining what I needed in a trustworthy teacher.
Ask how they got through their own tough times
Good teachers want to hear your story and share from their own life what they’ve learned that might help you. It’s good to know if they can do it, so can you!
Try not to wait until there’s an emergency
True, sometimes it’s unavoidable but often, there are signs from the Universe that something is out of balance. A good teacher and teaching can help you identify what you might need to adjust before an emergency arises.
I arrived at CCSL a few days after being released from the emergency room. I felt broken, scared and alone when I stepped through the doors. I’m so used to handling things on my own that taking the first step was not easy.
The wonderful thing about those who are drawn to the teachings of Science of Mind and New Thought are that they lead with kindness and care for your well-being. They know and see the Truth that the brilliance of God/Spirit/Universe is inside you.
That day they saw it in me. No way I could see it for myself.
Notice what the Universe is reflecting back to you
in the hearts and minds of those you might want as teachers:
Do they embody what they teach?
Do you see in them Love, Joy, Harmony and all of the qualities that make up the Universe/Spirit/God?
Here is a list of the attributes that comprise the Universe, Spirit, God. Take a moment to reflect on these qualities in yourself and in your life.
In Part 2 of this discussion, we’ll take a look at a few more points to consider in your search for the right teacher and teaching for you. Such as the importance of knowing what your personal vision is as seen through our Global Vision.
